WHAT WOULD ONE OF THOSE WORK FROM HOME JOBS HAVE TO DO WITH, ABOUT ME?
From a teenage runaway to one of those work from home jobs. Who would’ve ever thought? Hi there, my name is Tom. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio. I’m the one who is building the pages behind, ‘howtotouchgod.com’ and also, ‘BiographyMinistries.com’ and other websites on the way. I’m what the web world calls the webmaster behind these two sites, although I have never had any computer schooling and have no programming skills whatsoever. Well, now it’s time for me to build my ‘about me’ webpage so here it goes…
My story starts out like this.
I didn’t grow up like the majority of normal people do and it’s no ones fault but my own. I can’t over stipulate that! Before I became a child of God in 1997 I used to run with the devil. I began my teenage years at the age of 13 as a runaway. Those were some wild and crazy memories. Living on the streets you can probably just imagine all the trouble I got into. I’ve been in group homes, halfway houses, jails (juvenile detention centers) all the way from here in Ohio to Florida and every state in between. I didn’t plan it that way, I had the mistaken assumption that I was embarking on an exciting adventure. I never ran away alone. I always took off with friends. We’d just be sitting around partying and someone would mention, “Hey, let’s go to Florida!” and off we’d go. We advanced in our means of transportation. The first two or three times we jumped on trains and then later on we took a friends parents car (Big Mistake).
I’ve ran away from home ten times
and I guess it was exciting, at least for the first few days, until you start running out of money and start getting hungry. That’s when the trouble begins. We would walk into a stores and grab food and just walk out. We were living in a fantasy, then in 1979 we finally got a taste of reality. We were sitting in a courtroom after trying to take a friends family car all the way to Florida. My friends parents dropped the charges because they got their automobile back in one piece with no damages. I thought to myself, “Cool, I’m going home.”
I didn’t know what it was at the time…
...but I noticed the prosecutor handing the judge a sheet of paper. I could tell by the judges facial expressions that it wasn’t good, not good at all. He looked at me and said something like, “Well, young man, I see here you have a juvenile record and not only that but either justice has been blind or you're one of the luckiest individuals I’ve ever met, until today!” To make a long story short the State of Ohio pressed charges against us for grand theft auto, my court appointed attorney talked them down to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, then I was sent away for 6mths. Did I learn my lesson? You bet I did! I look back over those years and I am very lucky to be alive. Actually, very thankful that God was watching over me.
According to the Department of Health,
more than 1 million teenagers run away from home each year. The National Runaway Switchboard reports that 86% of runaways are between the ages of 14 to 17 and 74% are female, while 26% are male.In some states, when a teenager runs away from home, he or she is subject to possible arrest and detainment. For a teen under arrest, a juvenile detention center is generally used instead of an adult facility. Being detained is not the same as being arrested. Detention can mean waiting with a law enforcement official while the runaway’s parents are contacted and arrangements are made for returning the teen home. It can also involve being taken to the police station and held there for hours or even for days as the authorities decide how to best handle the situation. As a teenage runaway you meet new people, have new experiences, and enjoy your independence. But there is also the down side, which is certain to happen, that you WILL end up in dangerous situations. Especially while hitch-hiking. There is what you could call the 7 ‘Ps’ of different kinds of people that you run into as a runaway. Partyers, predators, perverts, prostitutes, pimps, police and preachers.
The reason why I brought this up is…
...because the men of God where the ONLY ones you could trust. They would give you a safe place to stay. They would feed you if you were hungry. They would pray for and/or with you. They would talk to you about going back home and they would even help you get back home. After all the various juvenile detention centers, through out all the different states, finally got the rabbit out of my blood. I started thinking about all the preachers who had crossed my paths and all that they did for me. And “why?” They didn’t have to help me. What was their reason, their purpose? What were they getting out of it? It does make you stop and think, “Maybe there is a God!” So… …during the rest of my life I would pick up the Bible and I would put down the Bible. I remember praying but nothing would happen. No answer and no God! I just started assuming that those preachers were a special breed and that I was way to evil for God’s holiness, until… …the summer of 1997 my life was changed forever! I witnessed with my own eyes a person talking to a Ouija board and it was answering him back. It was errie and it scared me (I thought I was fearless). “Guess what?” I picked the Bible back up and started seeking, hunting and chasing God with all of my heart and I can tell you and anyone else who is reading this that He is real.
He promises that if you seek Him…
...He will be found by you. But if you don’t seek Him He will not impose Himself on you at all whatsoever in anyway.Well, just like that evil spirit was teaching that individual some things through that Ouija board, so also has the Holy Spirit taught me to numerous of things through the Bible. Which brings me to my websites. I wanted to share all that I’ve experienced and learned. I was seriously thinking about writing a book because I didn’t know anything about building websites. Then I was introduced to SBI or SiteBuildIt. I was told that I really ought to look into SiteSell. That I didn’t need any programming skills and I didn’t have to be a computer tech. So I did. What really caught my eye was that a 16yr. old had done it and became VERY successful. That got my attention. I figured if she could do it, I can do it! So I started looking a little deeper into this SiteBuildIt thing and the main pages that probably impressed me the most were the Results Page and the Proof Page. But, I guess if a person really wanted to go deeper than I did at the time. I would have to suggest the Video Tour, even for those of you with dial-up. That page gives you a look into the brain of SiteBuildIt and how ‘IT’ works.
I really love what I’m doing…
...and I see so many SBIers leaving their 9 to 5 jobs. That’s my ultimate goal too!I’m 46yrs. old and I know personally of a retired couple struggling with all there bills. I mean, he gets a retirement check from Rockwell, a veterans check, a social security check, plus both of them are working. Forget all that, I'm not doing that! That’s NOT retirement! I want to be financially secure. And SiteBuildIt is pointing the way! P.S. sitesell would be perfect for moms that are looking for work from home jobs. I’m going to become a work from home dad and as a grandparent, I want to watch my grand kids grow up! I have been with this company for around 12 mths and everything that they have said or claimed HAS happened. “Oh yeah!” and by the way, as a teenager I did graduate and even joined the Navy. I was on an aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Interprise, a floating city. I would chalk and chain A7 interceptors and F14 fighters to the flight deck for refueling. Now that, was more of an adventure, than being a runaway! P.S.S. If you would like to see the first website I built and it’s statistics, this link will take you there BiographyMinistries. If you're interested in more information about SiteBuildIt clicking on the banner below (opens new window) will also take you to my other website. SiteBuildIt sure changed my life! Dear Mom, When you read this page (because I know you will) I just want you to know again how deeply sorry I am for all the heartaches I caused you and dad during my teenage years. You are so loved, Tom@howtotouchgod
