The Bible is (basically) divided into two parts. The Old Testament (God's old agreement to mankind or humankind, which ever you prefer). And the New Testament (God's new agreement to mankind or humankind, which ever you prefer).

...it stands to reason (I don't talk this way, it just sounded good at the moment so I typed it. And now I'm going to type it again). So, it stands to reason that we should learn [FIRST] what God's 'New Agreement' has to say before even looking into the 'Old Agreement' or Old Testament!

The New Testament is (basically) divided into three parts. First we have the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John). These men wrote down everything that they experienced and witnessed Jesus say and do - everything that Jesus taught and revealed to them.

Second, we have the book of Acts. Acts is all about (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) and the rest of the disciples and many, many others spreading the Good News (that's what 'Gospel' means 'Good News') to the ends of the earth. What's the Good News, you ask?... "I JUST WON A MILLION DOLLARS ON THIS SCRATCH OFF!" ...just kidding. I don't gamble. Hang on ... I'll tell ya.

Remember, I mentioned above that the New Testament or God's 'New Agreement' to the world is divided into three parts. Well, the third part is Romans to Revelation (Not Revelations). These are the letters to the Church or letters to the Christian or better yet, letters to us individually! I mean since the Holy Scriptures were written by holy men who were influenced by the Holy Spirit that would basically make the Bible, letters from God to you and me! Right?

In the Old Testament or in God's 'Old Agreement' with humankind, every family had to sacrifice a lamb once a year every year to cover their sins (it's a long story but that's where todays word, 'scapegoat' comes from).

...in God's 'New Agreement' with humankind or in what is known as the New Testament. Jesus is the Lamb. Jesus is God's Lamb who was sacrificed once for all to wash away forever all families sins and the sins of the whole world, past, present and future. Now that... is... "Good News!"

(changing the subject) You may not have ever thought about this before. But, imagine with me for a moment. Picture satan, all excited, jumping up -n- down and yelling, "I killed Jesus!" "I killed Jesus!" only to find out that he was outsmarted and actually sacrificed the Lamb of God. For God. For us, for the world! Hmmmmm.....!! Pretty cool, Huh?
