65. What would be the present value of the thirty pieces of sliver for which Judas betrayed the Saviour?
The thirty shekels of silver, it is estimated, would equal about $20 of our money, a shekel being worth about 62 cents. Thirty shekels equaled 120 denarii, and a denarius was the price of a day's work.
The present purchasing power of the money would be perhaps ten times its value in those ancient days.
